Attempted ‘Police Coup’ Against Nigeria’s Senate President Fails

The Nigerian Senate President Dr. Bukola Saraki, whose whereabouts was unknown earlier on Tuesday was seen presiding over plenery today were 15 APC senators formerly announced their defection to the PDP.

Operatives of the Department of State Services and men of the Nigeria Police had laid siege to the Abuja homes of Saraki and Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu.

The security operatives arrived at the homes in the early hours of Tuesday.

Saraki who smartly evaded the Police blockade was seen walking down to his office for a meeting of the leadership of the Senate before the commencement of the day’s plenary.

But the Deputy Senate President Ike Ekweremadu was yet to be seen in the National Assembly.
