Body Of Man Who Jumped Into Lagos Lagoon Found

Lagos-Lagoon

The lifeless body of Oluseyi Adekunle, man who reportedly jumped the Lekki-Ikoyi bridge last week, has been found, authorities say.

Adekunle was said to have jumped into the Lagos Lagoon on his way to work last Friday, in what appears to be a suicide attempt.

As reported by the Premium Times, the body was discovered by a local fisherman early Sunday morning at about 5.00 a.m. floating by the river bank.

The body was recovered by a joint operation by officials of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), Lagos State Waterways Authority (LASWA) Marine Police and handed over to the State Environmental Monitoring Unit (SEHMU).

The body has since been taken to Lagos Mainland Hospital Mortuary.

The General Manager of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, LASEMA, Adesina Tiamiyu confirmed that the police will carry out further investigation on the matter.

Recall that earlier in the year, a medical doctor identified as Allwell Orji, committed suicide by jumping from the third mainland bridge into the lagoon.
