A cross section of Nigerians on Social Media have reacted angrily to President Buhari’s directive that the Minister of Heath, Prof. Isaac Adewole to investigate reports of an ‘unknown disease’ that has led to the death of several children in Jigawa State.
In a tweet by the Senior Special Assistant of the President on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu, the President also directed the Minister to deploy all the necessary machinery to combat the outbreak of the disease reported in Gidan Dugus village of Wangara district, Dutse Local Government Area of Jigawa State. President Buhari, in a telephone call to Governor Abubakar Badaru of Jigawa State on Tuesday evening to find out the details of the incident, commiserated with the governor and the families of the victims.
President @MBuhari has directed the Minister of Heath, Prof. Isaac Adewole to investigate reports of an ‘unknown disease’ that has led to the death of several children in Jigawa State.

Nigerians who reacted negatively to the instruction by the President based their anger on a perceived propagandization of every government activity. See some of the people’s reactions:
That shows how this administration works. Unless the Imperial majesty issues directive, no one does what s/he’s appointed to do.

@MBuhari will one day also direct God to send rain since the minister of health won’t work until when he’s directed

I really don’t know why you like to use the word ‘president has directed’ his Ministers as if those ones are ‘mumu’ that don’t know what to do?

Does he need the president to instruct him? Please some of these minsters should be proactive. The president has too much on his plate

So the Minister waited until he was directed by the President?
All this so the President will get some credit?

I am ashamed that it has to take a Presidential directive for the Minister and the Federal Ministry of Health to investigate the outbreak of an epidemic. In what century do we live? This is a grave dereliction. This government is long overdue for a cabinet shakeup. We need it NOW

Time is running out for your government and the change you promised is starting to feel like a one-chance bus.
