After meeting with the president for some hours, the Former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo stepped down to bare his mind on the controversy that has engulfed the 2016 budget until recently, which many see as a scandal.
Speaking with newsmen shortly after the meeting, Obasanjo stated that emerging issues in the National Assembly, however, confirmed his former assertion that lawmakers are “armed robbers and rogues.”
Obasanjo speaking further declared that the best way out of the current mess was to ensure that only men of integrity were elected into the National Assembly.
Before now, the ex-president had earlier described lawmakers (National Assembly and state Houses of Assembly) in an event in Lagos, sometime in 2012, described the as institutions filled with “rogues and armed robbers.”
Obasanjo, however, stressed that the fresh rumpus in the House would make those who did not believe him do so now, adding that there is no need to investigate the allegations and counter-allegations of the 2016 budget padding in the National Assembly.
