Conceptually and fundamentally, there is nothing like Buharism. It only exists as a false thought process and should be kept firmly away from intelligent public discourse, consigned only to the ranks of dull and ignorant power mongers who do not mean Nigeria well.
To be described as a Buharist is to accept being bereft of soundness of thought (any thought at all) in matters related to political leadership.
Related to that is the Buharam – the employers of all fouls means in furtherance of the above emptiness.
Both are directly related.
To be fair, one person in the past attempted to make sense out of the nonsense of Buharism for Buhari’s first run in 2003 – Ibrahim Tahir, Mamman Daura’s political soulmate but his attempts were futile, feeble and fragile – commonsensically nonsensical and summarily dismissed.
Awo wrote books in which he codified his thoughts about Nigeria’s structure and future, hence we had Awoists.
Buhari writes no books, makes no remarkable speeches and Buharism targets those who are just as empty, bereft of direction and eager only to impress in gullibility.
Even Zik who didn’t fully identify with Zikism still wrote books from which the likes of Raji Abdallah, MCK Ajuluchukwu, Osita Agwuna, Anthony Enahoro, Kola Balogun and others extracted ideas and ideals they founded their beliefs on.
Buharists and Buharams never consider the facts, they rely on emotionalism, revel in hypocrisy and move in herd-like formations because the nonsense itself is closely related to herded animals – the only good thing of which is that they never multiply, like their human relatives.
Buharism will appear popular for a little while longer, sustained by a near Nazi-like manic fury of lynch zombies hanging “corruption” around the necks of others to justify group attacks.
It will flounder and flourish for few more months as I see it, within a larger picture.
And this is the larger picture: just about 36 months ago, they ruled these streets and if you weren’t with them, you were dragged mercilessly and brutally – not with the almost pristine passion of predators like Lion but with the crudeness of a cow mauling anything out of fear.
Just 36 months ago, it was a fad to be tagged and numbered with them but the emptiness is now on full display – both nationally and internationally.
So they may appear to be growing but they’re only louder while reducing in number as commonsense prevails over their nonsense.
Now they sneak in and out – asking followers to see some good from the present aberration of leadership at our highest levels, revelling in pictures and motion without movement; statistics without development – appearing to be deep but as shallow as pee on a concrete wall.
They will get more desperate in attacks but logic will put them down – you will have to bear with us as we deal harshly with their foolishness on here and call them by their birth names like Mr, Mrs or Ms. Foolishness – (have you seen the new aunties and mummies they’ve brought?)
We sympathise with the hunger that drives both old and young to such depravity but for the good of the land, we will deal with them harshly wherever they dare to show faces.
Other than that, we will ignore them and treat them with the scorn their fathers treat Nigeria with.
“This too shall pass” – is not just a consolation but a prophecy: it is always darkest just before dawn and as surely as light follows darkness, these ones too shall pass.
2019 is a concluded matter spiritually and democratically – what we don’t know yet is who will replace him.
