Buhari Receives Archbishop of Canterbury In The U.K

The Archbishop of Canterbury, Most Revd and Rt Hon Justin Welby, on Thursday, visited President Muhammadu Buhari at the Abuja House in London.

This was revealed by the president himself in a statement he posted on via his Twitter handle.

The visit follows the president’s telephone call to the former Ekiti state governor Niyi Adebayo, to commiserate with him on the death of his father.

Archbishop of Canterbury is the senior bishop and principal leader of the Church of England. He is also the symbolic head of the worldwide Anglican Communion and the diocesan bishop of the Diocese of Canterbury.

His visit makes him the first international leader to visit the president since he left the country on January 19.

Buhari wrote: “Very pleased to welcome my friend the Most Revd and Rt Hon Justin Welby, Archbishop of Canterbury, to Abuja House this afternoon.”
