Davido To Retire From Music? Reveals Plan To Start Bitcoin Trading Company

Nigerian singer, Davido, may have started planning his retirement from music as he took to social media on Tuesday to reveal his plan to launch a bitcoin company.

The 28-year-old, who kicked off his professional singing career in 2011, revealed in a tweet that he was considering launching a cryptocurrency company.

Although the move may be an attempt to diversify his music earnings, the Sony Music signee and record label owner had revealed in 2018 that he planned to retire from music at the age of 30.

Davido told The Native in an interview: “I am 25 now, and I have a five-year plan. By the time I am 30, I don’t want to be actively doing music anymore.”

The Oakwood University graduate of Business Administration founded Davido Music Worldwide (DMW) in 2016.

The record label is home to Mayorkun, Yonda, Peruzzi, Dremo and Liya, amongst others.
