A time will certainly come when we will stop returning Dele “Bob Dee” Momodu’s Nose, when we find it in other people’s business.
Mendacious, unconscionable and questionable characters really can’t stick to their own business and a society as polarized such as ours, have many of them proliferating the space.
From all indications, gossips are worse than thieves because they steal another person’s dignity, honest reputation and credibility, which are impossible to restore. Well meaning citizens are however implored to extend this message to such snollygosters, with emphasis on the fact that when our feet slip, we can always recover our balance but when the tongue slips, words can’t be recovered.
You will recall that a certain character, who pirated Hello Magazine in the dark days when it used to take years for western ideas to cross into our shores, ran his mouth on the affairs of a popular singer leading to media backlash spiraling into a track released by the said entertainer just to reset the nuances of the nosy gossip.
The publisher of Ovation Magazine, Dele Momodu (also known as BobDee in gossip circles) was quoted to have said that the clash with the entertainer (Davido), following his uncouth misdemeanor was his biggest battle in life. This same character have flip-flopped into many media messes around politicians just to position himself strategically for personal gains via praise singing.
His recent exploration into yet another phantasmagorical bubble led him to publish a fictitious article of abundant praise of the Senate President, with an audacious claim that His Excellency, Abubakar Olubukola Saraki, has joined the Presidential race. This unfounded juvenile pronouncement, has been making the rounds, while he (BobDee) pontificates on Twitter of the assuredness that it is true.
The polity is no doubt heated with so much happenings beyond what we can put a tab on. It is thus a great opportunity for certain elements to cast the Apple of discord. It is one thing to devout one’s life to the pullulation of rumors and fictions but at certain ages, wisdom ought to be profitable to direct.
In as much as most of the facts reeled out in that panegyric prose remain true, the assiduous Senate President needs no such distraction at this stage of national polity, when such can breed tension between the Executive and the legislative.
We however have it on good authority that this news is not only false but the public will need to extend a hand of fellowship to Bob Dee enough to allow him seek deliverance from whatever that buffets him at the sunset of his political and professional career.
