Benue Acting Govenor, Engr. Benson Abounu has directed the Ministry of Finance to commence payment of two months arrears of salaries, pensions and gratuities tomorrow, 29 October 2018.
He gave the directive when the state received the Paris Club refund earlier withdrawn from Benue account by the Federal Government. The state government also gave assurance that October salaries will also be paid a few days after payment of the two months arrears, to enable workers receive three months wages within a week.The acting governor said the state would continue to source funds to pay till the backlog is cleared.
